Rust Drawings

My Rust Drawings depict a fascination with turning something decaying in the conventional sense, into an everlasting piece of beauty. Rust has traditionally been considered a sign of destruction and corrosion, but I find it incredibly beautiful in that it has a life of its own and is part of the natural chemistry continually taking place in the world around us. I focus on the transmutation that occurs in both living and non-living matter, through the use of natural by-products (rust, charcoal) to depict scenes emphasising natural shapes, forms and pure energy.

These are all original drawings made with rust and charcoal, where I rust an image onto the paper and the draw over it with charcoal.
